This is a display shelf for my daughter to display her camera collection. It is made out of Cedar for the main part with Mahogany for the trim. I finished it with natural Danish Oil. My son helped me to pick out the type of wood to use. We thought the two looked nice together. And the oil really helped bring out the grain of the wood.

Looks nice now.

I’m a bit concerned that your project will develop problems due to wood movement because of the difference in expansion/contraction of the crossgrain sides versus the longgrain strips used for molding. Perhaps it won’t be a problem but don’t be too surprised if it does.

Good Luck!

Very nice! I’m sure your Daughter loved it. Nice collection of old cameras also. I can see in the future a combination of this and your coffee table project for a shadowbox display. It’s going to be beautiful!

Nice display for her cameras.
Now what you gonna do when (not IF, but WHEN) she buys another camera (or two) :-)
