A friend wanted a kitchen island made from wood that she salvaged from an old barn. She was specific about the size and height and wanted awine rack at the bottom so this is what she got.

What are the bowtie shaped inlays on the top? Is that joinery to the legs? Also, what kind of stain/finish did you use?

Very nice job on recycling old wood. I love the ideal of taking something what looks the life of it has been used and making a beautiful piece out of it.

shopmania, i wor with olw wood all the time.i can bet his bowties on top are for either large nail holes or ding that were in the boards….
