Here are a couple of pics of my newest intarsia commission. It is for a wedding present. The box is 6”x 8” and uses 45 pieces from 10 different woods. .This was a fun project. Very challenging because of all the small pieces.( Thank goodness for 3 power jewelers goggles.) Here is a list of the woods used—Box and foreground-Black Walnut, Rope and white on lighthouse and seagulls-Holly, sky- Tulipwood, Black on lighthouse-ebony, Lighthouse light and boat-Pau Amerillo, Water-Blue Mahoe, Weeds-Lignum Vitae, Sand-Persimmon, Fence posts-Jatoba, Grey part of pedestal-Ambrosia Maple, Red of pedestal-Bubinga.

Beautiful box and a wonderful job with the intarsia. I’m a lighthouse lover and have been to Cape Hatteras, about a year after they moved the light. Hard to believe the image was done with different woods! I am jealous of your talent and of the lucky person who is to receive this box!

Mike, another excellent piece of work. I just love all the intarsia you do. Someday I may just stray up your way and take a lesson or two. Great job.
