Marquetry bird from the Louis XIV coffer in the Getty. There are 5 total birds in the series, this is the first. Here’s a youtube video of the second.

Unfortunately I had to rush the finish on this bird. The finish on the second is much nicer.

luke what can i saw but wow just stunning dude i wish i had the patience and eye site to that kind of work some of the best ive seen excellent job.

Very nice! I’m building a new chest for my carving tools. Maybe I’ll try my hand at some marquetry on the lid.

Really came out great, amazing details. What is the field veneer? It has some wild texture.

Amazing work! Your detail and wood choices are exceptional. Got to try marquetry at some point, I like doing fine detail work, but have never ventured into that arena.
