A few of my more recent turnings. Some of them were turned on my ShopSmith and the newest ones on my Christmas gift from the wife, a Rikon 70-220vsr. The pics show a gold Executive pen on lacewood, 5 wine bottle stoppers on exotic woods and 2 razors. A box made from bradford pear with a jade looking medallion insert in the lid. A spalted maple razor, an orange acrylic razor, and 6 pens of various woods and corian. Thanks for looking.

Awesome, I look so fwd to making these. Blondie gave me the green light to get a lathe!!!! I’m stoked been reading up on them. Any advice would be great. I’m leaning toward the Jet 1221VS. I thing this would serve me well. What are your thoughts?

I do not have any experience with the Jet but from what I hear they are the cadillac of the mid sized lathes. I purchased this Rikon at Woodcraft on sale for $549 so my thoughts were…Is it worth $200 more dollars? I like the Rikon so far. It has a 1hp motor, 12.5” swing, reverse and a 5 year warranty. If you plan on making anything larger than say a 10” bowl you may want to look bigger. Good luck with what ever you decide. Any other questions just ask.
