This is my first bent lamination made using red oak. Create a bending form with holes for the clamps (based on advice from the book by Lon Schleining titled “The Complete Manual of Wood Bending”) to form the curved front. Use the cut off from the jig body for the cauls. Cover all jig parts with tape to help with glue release. I used nine laminations cut on the band saw and then refined in a thickness planer. The accent caps on the legs are lacewood and the leaves are hand carved from beech.

Perfect use of the space, and super colorful too.
Those flourishes are really nice!

Paplou, I was worried about the glue-up, but the bending form made it real easy. I’ll definitely do it again. The book on wood bending that I mentioned above was a very helpful teacher.
