Don't Look Patron !

Project by Woodwrecker posted 80 days ago 502 views 0 times favorited 20 comments Add to Favorites Watch

OK, so posting anything in the same week as my friend David, is like performing on the Ed Sullivan show, RIGHT AFTER THE BEATLES…...Forget about it !!!
But all the materials in this project were headed for the landfill and I figured I’d give them a little more time before they were through.
I’m getting a kick out of goofing around with that router template pattern maker too.
This is like a United Nations box. The frame is Oak. The bottom is Baltic ply. The lid is Mahogany and the trim is Walnut. The cast-offs from a cabinet shop and a large stamping plant are my main sources and they are real nice people. The prices are right too…..
I’m going to keep practicing….bear with me..

Thanks for looking.

-- Eric

That’s a very nice assembly of odds and ends. This is a perfect example of why you should never throw wood away.

Yea Charlie. Tell my wife that. Eric, that’s a great looking box from what was headed to the dump.

If that’s practice, I can’t wait to see the performance.

Great box. Love the use of all the different scraps.

You did a fantastic job with that router template too.

Now I have to go look at Davids box. and compare. haha

Kep it up.

Eric,
I know what you mean about posting after David… but you have one nice piece here!
I love the dove tails, the combination lends itself to nice contrast, and the price was right!
Nice work.

Thank you all.
Kind words by people as talented as you are very flattering.
The quality and diversity of pieces being posted these days is incredible.

Larry, the Milescraft kit came with a
1/4 V groove (#70020) bit which I’m using, and a 1/8 straight bit.
(I have their sign making kit coming. That is until I can save up enough to order my wee beastie….:)

I am fortunate enough to receive raw materials from various sources and have fun seeing what I can make.

I don’t think there will be any Queen Ann Highboys coming out of my shop any time soon, but I sure have fun making what I can.

Thank you all again, and I hope you all have a very happy Labor Day holiday.
