Figured Koa/Tiger Maple Humidor.

Project by HumidorMinister posted 78 days ago 646 views 6 times favorited 31 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This is a humidor I built for a fellow BOTL. The Koa was wood I got from a friend that bought up most of the veneers when Leer Jet went out of business. It’s the nicest I’ve ever seen. The rest is Tiger Maple. It has warm Oak stain to make the Maple pop and 10 coats of lacquer to make is smooth as silk. Please enjoy.

Your name is just too apro po! Your work is excellent. The figure in the woods is astonishing and your corner detail captivating! This is definitely a work of Art. I enjoy Art and love the medium with which you have chosen to work. Congratulations on a most lovely piece of work!

I also say “WOW”!! The box and the corners are great, but I want to know how you made the wood hinges.

Thank you all so very much. You are all an inspiration and motivators as well. I was lucky to come across the woods and blessed to have the skills to use it in this way. I have a few others I’ve done as well. I’ll post them soon. Thanks again for the wonderful compliments. I’m building a full size cabinet now with all bent laminated sides and doors. I put some pics in the forums but it’s just a skeleton so far. That one will be my masterpiece.
