I may be stepping out on a limb here, but I think your tittle is a little inappropriate for this website.
As for the actual sculpture, it looks very good for a first attempt. Much better than my own first attempt; And my second, and third….

looks like something that was made thousands of years ago. Nicely done. I kind of agree on the title though

Just to (respectfully) offer a different opinion: I’m not sure that “titty” is an obscenity. To me, it’s more of a slang term for “nipple” or “booby” which is anatomical in nature. And, if the gent who carved this beautiful piece is a non-native-English-speaker, as the spelling of his name implies, I could further contribute the word choice to translation problems. At any rate, word connotation is a subjective experience, and it’s probably not something we could decide by arguing about it. In all cases, I don’t mean to offend with my commentary—just trying to see both sides of the issue.

The name doesn’t bother me but I wouldn’t have called it that. It doesn’t seem to fit the sculpture other than the obvious. I would have just used “nude”. Nice piece, though (no pun intended).

I like it! Here we go with title arguments again. Other than for some archaic religious reason what is wrong with ‘titty’?

OK so wait a minute here. Someone creates a beautiful piece of work and all anyone talks about is the title.
Come on grow up here a little.
Great piece. Name your stuff whatever you want.

First, most importantly, great work. Hard to believe it’s a first sculpture. You’re a great artist.
Second, the name is a bit sensational, designed to get a reaction. Artists do it all the time. Maybe intentional maybe not in this case.
Third, substitute your favorite slang for male gentalia, say ‘cxxx candlestick’. Really watch the fire works. Now explain that to your daughter/granddaughter looking over your shoulder. People will get upset. Just a rambling observation from a member of the ‘itty, bitty titty club’.

That is a beautiful, artistic piece! Stylistically not what I would expect of a European craftsman, as it has the appearance of ancient African tribal artwork. But it is a thing of beauty.

Great work!!! I like this one a lot. I usually don’t like this type of art, but I really like this one. You also have a great title, don’t listen to these other “Boobs”.

How interesting. A year ago there was marquetry titled “Estrus” that evoked extreme reactions.
I guess with 12000 plus members now it takes a while for the new to get out.

Personally, I think the title could have been a bit more descriptive. “Humongus titties” would seem more appropriate. Now I will retreat to a neutral corner to duck and cover. By the way….nice first attempt!

I’m sorry, but this is a woodworking forum, not PCU. We’re all adults here (except for possibly teenagewoodworker who is a better woodworker than me, so I don’t care about his age, I just take his advice). We’re here to audit each other’s woodworking, not make moral judgments. Forget about the title. The Earth Mother is our oldest form of artistic expression (ever read “Clan of the Cave Bear”, “Pillars of the Earth”, or “Sarum”?). By definition she has large breasts. To suppress the acknowledgment of that fact is to suppress the foundation of our being. I personally am lactose tolerant.
With that being said, I love the sculpture and will probably endeavor to make something similar. Thanks for posting!

this whole thing made me BUST out and laugh and the thought that this would cause a problem within the ranks was just silly, but i do think we should stay a breast of how things turn out…until then i want to discuss the eating habits of the tit mouse, and if we find the information on that subject worthy of posting, then i want to know of it so i dont feel like a utter boob…....the problem here is people go off half cocked and make something out of nothing…so my 2 cents…...lol

He is from Poland translation problems or dramatic effect either way is fine with me.
The Polish jokes came from the Nazis mostly. They were brave people. And they like us Americans, it was the Navy SEALS and Polish Special Forces who took down the oil rigs in Iraq.
Give the guy a little slack. He did a great piece, look at our Art Deco pieces. They may not have had the title but they had the “female PFD’s” (Personal Foatation Devices) as a Navy man told me they call them.

Wiktor, What a beautiful form of art. Great job! All I can say is, wish I could get that many views and comments on my work. You must me doing something right. I once had a great woodturning tell me that when he did a piece of work, he didn’t care what reaction people had towards his work…....as long as they had a reaction. You did it !!! well done.

Great workmanship , Wiktor : )
There is no finer subject to duplicate in this world than the female form.
The only thing wrong with this post is that there is only one picture posted at this time !
To those of you who are whining about the word titty , your complaints are udder nonsense !

Description of Titty as found in the Urban Dictionary
1. tough titty
a.) An insincere or sarcastic way of saying “that’s too bad”, or “deal with it”
b.) Short version of the phrase ”’Tough titty’, said the kitty, when the milk went dry.”
Child: But Mom… I don’t want to mow the yard!
Mom: Well, tough titty. You’re going to do it anyway.

Tit, Titty, Boob, Niple, whatever you want to call it its a sweet piece. I wish i could carve something that good. Beautifull wood too. And for those of you 5 year olds who are offended by the name “Titty Candlestick” I will call my next piece “The Elegant End Grained Pennis” Why? because In the world of art you can name your piece whatever your heart desires.

Wow….that was your first carving….sure looks like you had more experience than that…..as for imperfect….I think we are all a bit over critical of our own work….I can see every slight imperfection on my stuff….and to me it looks like it would jump right out and bite you….then someone will look at it and say it is perfect….
Now on this piece…I think it is excellent…It really looks like a primitive carving…whether intentional or not…it makes it pop.
As for the title….the folks that might be offended are being a bit victorian…..sometimes it looks like political correctness will return us to the days of grunts…..where every word becomes offensive…..when did we all get such thin skin….sheesh
