Inspired by a recent FW article I made this simple box. The sketch show the order of the bandsaw cut, glued with instant glue. Once all parts are assembled I worked the external shape, planed and sanded.

Ciao, Leo.

I’ve never seen a box like that. I like it. A lot. I believe I will try that. Great job, thanks for sharing.

Great job. I like the live edge and all boxes. Thanks also for the diagram. This will help me try one. I’m thinking your design might accommodate Soss hinges, which I have in stock.

Nice looking box. Over the long term is there anything you have to do to preserve the bark?

Thanks for your comments.

Hinges are a good idea, I didn’t think; you have to make little adjustment in cover’s tenon. I consider some magnets but the joint is tight enough.

Fortune preserve the bark, but if falls I’ll have however a natural edge.

Never built a bandsaw box but now I want to try one! I have some great pieces of walnut that would work great for something like this! Thanks for the great idea and the layout drawing!
