Counter top from reclaimed barn framing

Reclaimed this lumber from a barn we remodeled 5 years ago. Sometimes it pays to never throw anything away. Resawed 2×8s and milled the backs so they were flat, Sanded the faces to leave a lot of character. Customer did the install and finish, he did ok for a young man with small budget and lots of energy

Looks good. Used to use a LOT of barn wood for stuff I made….

Nice job.

What grit did you sand down to, to leave the saw marks? I have a lot of barn wood and have some projects to use it on.

roughed it out with 80 grit on a belt sander, finished up with 120 on a random orbit sander
