This was a remodeling project I just finished up. I had installed a new oak floor in the customer’s living room. The existing fireplace extended out into the patio (see the before picture) and wanted something to cover the eyesore. He is an Ohio State Buckeye fan so I designed an enclosure to match the color scheme and decor in their patio. I covered the enclosure with ceramic tile and used cherry strips in place of grouting. The corner posts are spalted maple. The OSU logo is a spalted maple panel. The ‘O’ is cherry, ‘Ohio State’ is walnut, and the surrounding trim is hickory. The frame is cherry.
