Clarinet and Chianti inspired work

Project by Rog posted 84 days ago 310 views 0 times favorited 3 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Well this was a learning projoct from the beginning. First I was inspired by design and choice of wood for my love of Chianti Wine, thus the spalted ? and Dark walnut wood which I designed using AutoCad 14. I choose these two types for the matching of the earthy, wood, berry taste that is Chianti wine. The pens are Zebra and Mexican Bocote wood inspired by “Well ah” mistake, shape of the clarinet which I started playing in 4th grade and still play at times “ia bet” Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Anyways can you see resemblence of the clarinet in the pens? LOL I really had fun doing these and yes turning is addicting…...but I need to start calling the Lathe, a Lathe not a Lay, certain people get a kick out of that….

I love the shape of this bottle stopper along with the contrasting woods. I am a sucker for putting different woods together. Unfortunetly I don’t have a bandsaw or table saw so I haven’t been able to do any segmented type projects. NICE JOB!!
