This actually the cut-out from the Buffalo Bed. I hated to see it go to waste so here is another table. I’d seen a desk that John Gallis had done with a gouged edge so I tryed that. It come out better than I expected. This was also where I practised using a black paint wash. The under carriage is sorta like a candle stand but heavier. The top is about 34×17. The finish is shellac and lacquar and of course black paint. It now resides by my chair and holds my books and magazines The third photo is the able with one of Carleen’s elk hide throws over it. This is a full elk hide with decorations and fringe all the way around.

Such artistry – a very talented couple. One of the knots on the table looks very much like a giant spider.
I would appreciate learning more about “black paint wash”, perhaps you could do a blog on this.
