This is the second cabinet I’ve ever built. It was to house the rest of my wife’s scrapbooking gear. I tried raised panels (on the table saw) and routed the door edges this time. I learned a ton and even figured out how to turn a couple of mistakes into ‘features’ on this one. Instead of cleats to hold the hardboard shelves I just used a series of matching dadoes to slide them into. It turned out pretty well, I learned a lot, and had great fun. And like others have mentioned, when you’re building something that the wife has commissioned, you have more freedom to pickup a tool or two so I took full advantage. :-)
