This was a commision that went to Sun Valley, Idaho. the top is 1 1/4 Alder, pretty much natural. the legs are pine, black washed in paint. I wasn’t allowed much to build this so I bought the legs at Lowe’s. It does have a nice dovetailed drawer. It had to be distressed. One interior designer up there told me they order everything distressed; if it wasn’t when it started it would be when it arrived. Well, it was fun and I got a check.

Hi Thos;
You did an excellent job of distressing it. That is truly an art in itself. I admire the ability to do that
I must admit mentaly I just can’t do it. Just rubs me the wrong way, to beat up something that I’ve built.
The table looks great!

Thos, this is a very nice table. It reminds me of the work of another LJ Buddy, Phil. Have a look at his projects, they are similar to this.

Nice work, can you provide a little detail on how you achieve the distressed look on the table top

Nice table. Like Lee, I just can not bring myself to beating up my work as part of the finish. It was hard enough to get it into the nice looking point, and then to bang it up..no, I just can’t do it.
