Custom Made Shoe Shine Box

Project by Bullgoose posted 87 days ago 332 views 0 times favorited 3 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This is a project that was inspired by another Lumberjocks’ member, Woodshopfreak and my own experience as a youngster actually shining shoes for money! It is made of quarter sawn white oak (QSWO), maple and some oak that I salvaged from the bench rehab I completed a month or so ago.

Nicely done. I like it. Very functional.

I have an antique one of these as a small piece of furniture complete with the shoe shaped foot rest. Some of the polish in it might just be antique, also.

Great Job on this, Bullgoose! That finish is just glowing…you got some really pretty grain going on in that wood, too! Nice!!
My parents have an old Bootblack’s Stool. I don’t have a picture, but it’s a four legged thing, with one of the panels under the seat being a false panel. Push on one side, and it swivels out…That’s where they used to stash their cash…;-)
