This table was built on request for a very dear friend. Her son collects fossils and wanted something special for some of the very unique pieces he has. It is made using all recycled materials (including the screws and glass). The wood is Queensland white pine (Hoop) and red cedar. The finish is Danish oil(7Coats) and Cabinet Makers Wax (5 Coats). The construction is very traditional and I would have used Dovetails on the drawer except she wanted screws due to the weight of the fossils. When I felt the weight I sort of understood but would have still preferred to have used dovetails.

Very nice work, it reminds me a little of a table I made a while back, also intended for fossils.

Nothing like good seasoned wood for furniture, the character is by far the best and it is far more stable.
