you’re right Gary!
It is wonderful—and again a surprise; I thought it would have opened from the top. Cool

Pedrorc, what could be better? A box of boxes – this is almost too much for me to bear, because I just love small wooden boxes.
Very nice combination of contrasting wood and well finished. I have to ask, what’s the intended purpose of this piece? Not that it needs one – it stand on its own artistic merit.

Pedro, just beautiful! I have to ask, though…what’s it for? It’s just a wonderful piece and I like to imagine building many of the projects that are posted here. I just can’t, for the life of me, decide what to use this for.

Wonderful job Pedro. What did you do to get that great finish?
Mot, you could use this box to store the Domino tenons in. Ok, its not a systainer, but it would work. (kidding) Seriously, it looks like it could be a box for spices, or even storage for items on a desk (pens, rulers, etc).

This chest is a copy of an old XVIII century small chest restored for my, The name of this kind old chest in Portugal is “contador”. During the XVII and XVIII century’s this “contadores” served to guard money. My project was for to Cuban cigars collectors.

cool. i like many others loved the combination of woods. all those boxs must have been hard to make and especially fit them all. i always have trouble with fitting draws. their either too small or to large. thats why i use drawer slides whenever possible. great work.

Pedro,
This is a stunning box. The wood combinations are simply outstanding.
Thanks for the post.
