After making the highboy and lowboy, I wanted to make a few “fast” projects. The kind that would take an hour or two vs 6 months. :-)
I’m still looking to get inspired for the next “big” project, perhaps a china cabinet. In the mean time, these next few are some things I had on my “to-do” list.
Our daughter at college asked if we had an extra mortar and pestle, I said “No , but I can make you one”. These are made of osage orange. Finished with mineral oil.

Hi Bob,
I’ve never worked with Osage Orange. How is it to work with?
Looks good.

Lee,
This stuff is great, It’s hard but turns nicely. The shavings are very yellow and fun to watch peel off. This finishes great. With 220 sandpaper and only buffing with the shavings, it almost looks finished before applying any wax or other finish.

Where do you find the Osage Orange wood? I love the color of that wood. Really looks good.

Quickies are always nice. Oh you meant woodworking.
A nice job. I planed an Osage Orange board today. It was in a stack of some other wood I got. It was a bland light yellow. not real lemony.
Nice job.

Great little turnings. This is one of the things the wife asked me to turn for her. Guese I need to stop playing and get to work on the hone do list.
Great job.
