My brother texted me a picture about a month ago of an ax that my nephew wanted me to make for him. Being the nice uncle that I am, I decided that I would not make him the ax. I made him one far better, with a shield. The last picture is the ax he wanted. The one that I made is the other two pics. The ax handle is made of Red Oak and the top is Popular. The gray is stained because I though it would last better than paint. The shield is made from palette wood. I do need to add a leather strap to the shield to make it easier to hold. The rest of the wood is scraps I had laying around. Let me know what you think.
