Here is another multi-function article of wood. This was built to give my wife a place to do the bills originally but then when we moved, it was tapped for computer service. We keep many of our oldest boy’s books there so he can get to them anytime he wants. Originally it was in the children’s room so it was stained to match the dresser/changing station and the crib. Now, though, it’s simply the darkest piece of furniture in our living room. Stain is Minwax redoak, with a satin water based polyurethane finish.

the drawer surprised me! I thought it was just part of the frame.
Well done – and it “grows” with the family . Excellent

It’s a nice desk. But what I really enjoyed is the second photo, in which your dog seems to have discovered something on the floor and is deciding whether or not to eat it.

MsDebbieP, i deliberately designed the drawer as a “surprise” feature, i’m glad you liked it
