My daughter is a letter saver. She probably has every card, note, and random letter she has ever received. Heck, she probably has the actual winning Ed McMahon Sweepstakes letter crammed in there somewhere.
Anyhow, she needed something to put them all in, and since they are important to her I thought something more than a cardboard shoe box was in order. I put in a lock so she could keep them private if she desires. The woods are ambrosia maple and walnut. The dovetail corner post was cut using an incra router jig.

Very nice. Great choice of woods. That incra jig makes awful nice corners. Great design and great build. I am sure she will love it.
Keep it up.

ah hell Jim, you’re probably right. It wont be long before I’ll be making a tiny little box for her to put a little memory stick in with all her life’s communications. Seems like everything is going that way more and more.
I guess it’s a good thing she’s saving these paper letters, wont be long before they are unheard of. She can show her kids and it will be like showing our kids a LP or 8 track. They just stare at you in disbelief.

Great looking box. Nice job on the construction. I love that Ambrosia Maple. That bug makes great colors.
