this is a coffee table I made for my daughter and fiance a couple weekends back. The fiance is going to put 4 hand rubbed coats of poly on them to complete the project. It is patterned after a coffee table I built for home.

although it looks fragile, there is a subplatform under the topper that is about 3” inside the skirting to give rigidity to the topper and also that the pedestals mount to. Very sturdy…my wife has three stacks of magazines on our duplicate table at home that are about 10” tall and no sag noted.
