I named this after my old boss who unfortunately passed away suddenly back in 2004. He was a good and highly skilled man but with some rather interesting peculiarities. One of which was this similar expression often found on his face. Only thing missing is the cigar in his teeth and a pair of overalls on with a single shot Derringer always in the front pouch pocket.
I dedicate this to Calvin and the unique characters found in old woodworkers everywhere you go!

Great sculpture Miles, sounds like quite a character, that boss of yours, a derringer huh? Sounds like a guy who was pretty serious. Looks like you captured his soul pretty good. m

I might add that Calvin once shot a would be robber in the a** with his Derringer in a grocery store parking lot. They never found the perpetrator. I’m bettin Calvin may have actually cured him of a life of crime though.

I think I must know his twin. Nice art, Sort of reminds me of the famous Alabama potter who puts the faces on jugs.
