Just finished this on Thursday. I bought the neck but the rest I did myself. I have a jig for the body so I traced it on some swamp ash I bought, cut it and routed it. After that, I used Behlen walnut dye to darken it. I then sealed it with shellac, filled the grain and sprayed it with 11 coats of nitrocellulose lacquer. I finished the maple neck the same way except the back of it. I don’t like the feel of nitro on the neck so after I sealed it with shellac I put several coats of Tru-Oil on it. It feels great and plays as good as it feels.

That is awesome craftsmanship. I admire your talent. You need to make a video of you playing it!!

I had swamp ash once. It itched like hell. Nice guitar BTW.

Thanks for the very kind comments everybody! Scott, be careful with that itch, it could lead to the red ash!

Beautiful Strat! You got it just right.
I love the colors.
I’ll bet it plays great too.

Thanks, guys! It does play good. I like a wider neck and this one is 1 3/4” at the nut which is 1/8” wider than the average neck. Lots of real estate, just like I like it!
