Another torched cutting board

Was going to build this like my last board where I torched just the sides but after burning sides (3rd picture) I decided to take it to the next level :) It looks good to the eye however not sure if burning it this much will cause any taste problems or severe wood cracking/deterioration. I’ll wait and see!

Depending on what wood that is, you might consider finishing the whole top that way..
If you were to burn it then work your way up thru the grits sanding, then use mineral oil and start at 220 and go up again ,the surface would be sealed relatively well.
Upon first seeing this I thought it was silly, but thinking about it for awhile I do not see any harm and it adds to your board.
