Project Information

This Intarsia Pelican was another joint venture. She did most of the work and was in a crunch for time at the end so I joined in. Here are pictures of it before and after finishing. We made it this year in June and it was supposed to be a birthday gift for her father, but was a monthish late, soooo it was a fathers day gift.. ;-)

It is made of Yellow Heart, Mahogany, Poplar, Ambrosia Maple, Cherry, Maple, Jarrah, Ebony, and Walnut.

She found the pattern in the August 2008 issue of "Creative Woodworks & Crafts" - Pattern by Bruce Worthington

Oh I just LOOOOOVE this Pelican! What an awesome job, just beautiful. May I ask where you got the pattern? Did you draw it? I would love to make this guy, he'd go perfect with my last 2 little pelicans I made. Just love it. Thanks for sharing.Wonderful wood choices!

Hey Allison,

She found the pattern in the August 2008 issue of "Creative Woodworks & Crafts". The pattern is by Bruce Worthington.

We scaled ours down to fit on 11×17 paper and edited out much of the ground - here is a link to a page which has what it was supposed to look like.. Http://www.woodworksandcrafts.com/issues/gallery_august08.shtml
