I made this wooden vase out of a cherry log. (It’s hollow in the center to hide a narrow glass vase to hold fresh flowers.)

Initial cuts were all done on the band saw, followed by a glue-up and some power carving for the details, and then finishing.

The wife likes it, and visitors get a kick out of it too. It was a fun little project.

Great idea and execution. Wood adds class to an icon of the american past.

Nice build and carving. You must have spent allot of time carving the design. beautiful so the time was well spent.
