This was made for a neighbor. The house was built in 1900 and is a colonial with very low windows that swing in to the room. This was my first attempt at steaming wood to bend for the top rail. I learned very quickly that steaming isn’t the way to go! The top rail is actually laminated cherry that I resawed from 5/4 stock in to 1/8” strips to form the 3/4” thick piece.

I love raised panel beds. This one is a nice clean design. That larger higher center panel really makes it stand out.

Eric, Awesome headboard! I hope your neighbor realizes how lucky they are to have such talent next door. The design is great no matter where the headboard is used, but designed for under the window is fantastic!. Truly one of a kind.
