Persimmon bench

This bench was built to see what persimmon was like to work with. Highly reactive after sawing the logs into flitches. 2 years air drying. I used simple clets and screws for joinery. I hand planned the top to take the crowns out. That took a while. BLO for the finish.

nice bench, i found persimmon to be very hard. it makes great mallets. i have 2 persimmon mallets that are 30 years old and have been used constantly and show very little wear.
