I work for a non-profit Christian organization and they asked me to create a ‘trophy’ for the organization. It will be given to an employee that has gone over and above their assigned duties and this person will be able to place it on their desk for a year.
So, I created this ICHTHUS trophy from 16/4 sapele mahogany. I cut it out using a bandsaw which took about 20 minutes including the angle cut on the bottom. Then it took me about 4 hours of chisel work and hand planing with a scrub plane to look like it was hand-hewned.
I sealed it with a four coats of spray shellac with a semi-gloss spray polyurethane overcoat and then put on PSA red felt on the bottom.
Thanks for looking.
