First BIG project I’ve built. Its a back bar made from oak plywood and solid oak edges. Almost 8ft long and just over 7ft tall. Stained with a red oak stain and finished with 4 coats of Poly. Still have to put the door’s on but couldn’t wait to post. As I said first really big project and though I still have a ways to go in perfecting my craftsmanship, I’m pleased in how it turned out. Realized I need to pay closer attention to detail and craftsmanship like cleaner cuts, also realized I need better tools. Made the lower half first and then the top half and joined them together with solid oak trim. Recieved numerous compliments, luckly they don’t see the Oops and mistakes that I made in several spots.

This is fabulous. I can’t wait to see it with the doors on. I like oak in a natural stain though but that’s just me. Really nice.

Good Gawd! is that an authentic Darrel Royal signed Longhorn Football ???!!!!
That is no back bar, it is a display case for that pigskin.
What signatures do you have on the helmet?
As a Husker fan I compliment you on your taste.
Nice looking wood. Good Job

I too usually like oak stained naturally. However, my wife (should I say anymore). Actually I’m very pleased with how it looks stained. She really wanted something to much the whole THEME of the room and some other furniture we have. Yes that’s a Darrel Royal autograph, but my real pride is the personilazed Earl Campbell football on the other side. My wife’s uncle is friends with him and I was able to get that. Also have Major Applewhite helmet. If nobody could guess I’m a huge Texas Longhorn Fan. I’ll try to work with the camera and get some better pictures of the bar.
