After a spectacular failure with trying to glue some snake skins for casting (all turned brown!). I decided to whip up a quick pen for my father in laws 60th birthday. We’re going camping this weekend as a family and I plan on presenting it to him then.
The wood is some quilted maple I got from my good buddy HawksFeather (http://www.hawksfeathercustompredatorcalls.com) at our last Ohio Chapter meeting of the International Association of Penturners. I did horrible trying to capture the beauty of this grain, but trust me it’s nice! CA Finish. I plan on getting a wood presentation box from Woodcraft tomorrow after work and then wrapping it up!
Thanks,
Justin
