I took a second look at some of the boxes that I had posted earlier and realized I hate them! I had made seven similar style boxes and all of them are boring. Worse yet, I took all seven to a craft show and only sold one. Obviously people agree with me. I had to make some changes or I’d have them forever. On this one I made a new walnut lid and added some feet. The new handle is black palm. It’s a night and day difference. I didn’t take any pictures before I made the changes but the last picture is close to what it looked like… Ugh. I’m now in the process of re-working the remaining boxes. Thanks for looking.

Nice work, we have all Ben there on projects. Mine was a G & G mailbox that required a redo.

The lid change is very nice and complements the rest you hit a home run.

Like the wood choice before and after.

Now that is elegant. Before a well crafted box with excellent workmanship.

I like your changes. In the next iterations, if the body edges are sharp you might try maintaining that crispness on the legs and raised portion of the lid. Same goes with the black palm handle. If it doesn’t work, you can always ease over the edges.
