Santa (brother Mike visiting from Connecticut for the week) and I making a cover for his motor-home’s sink. We spent quite a few hours working in my shop to use some of my ‘scrap’ lumber to make this cutting board/tray/cover. We make a good design and construction team. The top is figured maple, maple, cherry, and padauk; and the ring on the bottom is walnut. In the first photo we are deciding how to arrange the ‘almost too short’ walnut boards for the bottom ring. It was close. The second photo shows the finished board in place. . . sigh of relief that it fits around the sink (snugly) and misses the faucet by 1/4”.
It was so fine to be back in the shop. I am a happy camper in among all my tools and wood- and making something.
