this is my first own design for a peice of furniture. its something i dreamed up as i wanted to do something steel and use up a box of old junk so i made this at home out of a whole bunch of old tools dad found at the dump a while back and some deformed concrete reinforcing bar. in the beginning i wasnt going to use any wood it was going to be a glass top and reinforcing mesh magazine rack but i decided the walnut stained saligna would give it a more modern look with the glass insert, the carcase has been powdercoated by levin powdercoating services in “gold spangle” it has come up awsome and i am rapt with the whole project. it is going to the kawerau national woodskills competiton in newzealnd next week. ill post up if it recives any awards

it is unfinished in the photos, has since had a coat of finishing wax to bring back the shine and softness. the timber has had 3 coats of finishing oil and been sanded back when photos were taken which is why it looks dull

Well done!!! Considering that old tools are used in the design, the table has a very sophisticated look. When I saw the tools it was like being let in on a good joke.

Good luck in the competition.
