For this project I used 3/4” laminated oak board, I downloaded a template from the Internet, and printed it to size using Matthias Wandell’s Big Print

I cut the board into a circle with a 14” radius using my home made circle jig, then changing the bit to a bull nose bit I cut the outer channel for the marbles to rest in.

Taping the template onto the board, I used a hammer and punch to mark the hole centres, before using my plunge router again with a bull nose bit to cut all the ‘holes’

Just to tidy it up, I used a 1/4” round over bit around the top, did some sanding, gave it a few coats of lacquer, and it was finished, all within an hour.

There is as bit more detail on my Blog

I see you have made another nice game Phil. Not sure I understand how to play that one. Do you use the Big Print often in your designs? I have never heard of that one…only Rapid Resizer

Thanks Hawaiilad, fortunately for me the rules are simple!!! :D As for Big Print, I use it for printing off all templates to size, now I would be lost without it. I used to use RR but find this far more user friendly!

Object- jump each individual marble and remove the one jumped. You should finish with one marble in the center hole! My cousin and I each have the game made from plastic about 60 years ago. We got to the point where we could finish with the peg in the center hole each time. That got boring. So…....we would time each other to see who could do it the fastest. My complements on the game!

Thanks for the comment knothead62, I agree I will probably get bored with it, but at the moment I am re-acquainting myself with a childhood pastime!!! :)
