Walnut Trestle End Table

Some of you may remember my query a while back on using sap wood on this walnut table. This is the (almost) finished product. I wanted to build something different from the standard 4-legs-and-a-skirt end table. I came up with this design based on a trestle dinner table I found online. I also didn’t want to use plugs to fill the screw holes, so I experimented with what I think are called faux through tenons that are simply face-gluded. I put three coats of Watco Danish natural all over and I’m on the third coat of wipe on poly on the top for extra protection. I’m not sure what style to call it, but I kinda like it. I thank all of you jocks for the inspiration to try something new!

I like it. I also like a little sapwood in some projects.
