Sorry, the title was a little miss leading…I had rotator cuff surgery on my right arm at the end of July, so I haven’t been able to do anything. Well, I decided that was enough of that when my wife started going to craft shows to buy a little bench to put plants on for our back porch. I made this out of left over treated lumber in just a few hours. All the joints are mortise and tenon, so I considered it rehab. Although my therapist didn’t think so. Anyway, it saved me about $100 so, I got to do some wood working real quick. I will say though that it was quite challenging to only use one arm most of the time. I can use my right arm a little, just can’t reach out there. Of course, I took time to plan a head and used my band saw most of the time and not the table saw, safety first. Wouldn’t be doing myself any justice if I cut my good arm off now would I? Now of course, she started back up with her “to do” list, I thought I was out of that, guess not. Take care guys!

One arm? Surgery? looks awesome to me! I can’t wait to see what you can do with both arms….

Very Nice I honestly have never even considered making a piece of furniture out of treated lumber…yours looks so nice I will need to hide it from the wife or I’ll be making lots of it!

Great work for a one armed woodworker.
I really like your long clamps.
I worked with a guy with one arm, he could do just about anything.
Try and tie your shoe laces with one hand. I tried with no luck, but he could.

Well done – looks too comfortable to put plants on though, might have to put the plants on the floor and sit on the bench to admire them :-)
