Project Information

This cabinet is made of reclaimed Cypress that was once part of a holding tank for apple vinegar. The past century of exposure to the vinegar resulted in subtle red lines running through each plank. As I resawed the veneer for all the panels, these lines were of great decorative importance. With such tight grain from slow growth, it hand planed to a glassy smooth texture. Absolutely beautiful to work with. It was built to commemorate my Grandfather's 90th birthday.

Do I see a little Krenov influence there?

It came out fantastic. The long legs give it great lines.
