A Playhouse for my Granddaughter

This is a play house I made for my 4 year-old granddaughter. The play house is 12’ wide and 10’ deep and about 12’ high. It features a loft with a window that overlooks a wife’s rose garden. It has air conditioning and electricity. A couple of extras include the baywindow planter, ceiling fan and the octangle window over the front door. The door is a split door so she can open the entire door or only the top. There is a deck on the other end with a “big people’s” door. My granddaughter lives in Arizpna and we are in Oklahoma so this is an enticement for her to come see us more often! I made her a complete wooden kitchen with refrigerator, oven, microwave, diswasher, kitchen sink and storage cabinets which are currently in Arizona but will probably soon make it back to Oklahoma.

I plan to add windowbox planters under the front windows. The front deck is 48”wide and 12’ long.

The table and chairs are made of cedar and are now in the playhouse along with her rocking chair. I also made her a cradle out of ash when she was born and a highchair also of ash about six months later. I’ll try to find pics and post those. ...Nanoman

Wow…...12’ x 10’.......you made your granddaughter a complete apartment! All I can say is that’s awesome. She will love that for years and years and will want to live in it when she goes to college! lol. Great job.

well now.. isn’t she the luckiest little girl

Love the “enticement” idea. I with my granddaughter wasn’t at the other side of the country :(

Beautiful playhouse.
