Well, “she who must be obeyed” has been in rare form this year with her Christmas decorations . . and projects! I thought my pallet tree last year was pretty good . . . but, the little woman’s creative sense just cannot be denied. Through the year I didn’t really pay much attention to the numerous turned posts that were accumulating during our antique shop and estate sale meanderings. I naturally go toward the rusty metal and wood stuff, usually tools of one form or another, so I was surprised a week ago when asked “how can WE put together my new Christmas tree design?”
At first I thought “all those round surfaces will be a real b@#%h to mate”! Actually, with a little vise and dado setup on the radial arm saw, some efforts with chisels and rasps, a little wood glue and a screw or two and the piece came together quite well. Now all WE have to do is decide what the base will look like so I can build it this weekend . . while I’m finishing off OUR new greenhouse and putting all the plants WE love in it!
MERRY CHRISTMAS Y’ALL from AUSTIN, by the Grace of God, TEXAS!!
