This clock is another style that I craft and sell. It has a quartz Westminster chiming movement and is crafted from Quarter Sawn White Oak. The finish is a water-based dye with an Oil Stain applied over it and then 4 to 5 coats of satin lacquer. By applying the water based dye and then over laying the oil stain it makes the rays of the oak pop. The joints on the door, and the styles and rails of the case are mortise and tennon joints. The face of the clock is also Quarter Sawn White Oak.

Dennis, I’m looking at all of the entries in the competition, and somehow had missed this one previously. I live clocks, and this is one that particularly appeals to me. Nice work.

Great job on the clocks. Can’t let my wife see them becuase she’ll want you to make them for her. She loves that style. I loved the wine rack. Very interesting and effective design.
