During Thanksgiving, I stayed with a friend of mine who has more furniture pieces I’ve made than I have. This piece was designed and built over 5 years ago specifically for DVDs. The construction is maple plywood with a purpleheart face frame and maple edging on the shelves. The carcase is built using mitered joints reinforced with biscuits. I really like the looks of this piece, it’s so clean. Well, the lines of it are clean, sadly the poor thing needs a serious dusting.

IIRC, the finish is lacquer.

And I noticed Hunt For Red October in there too! Nice stand. It’s obvious he likes it, but now he needs another one ! (Or a bigger one)

I like the cabinet but all of the DVD’s showing is less than appealing to me. Perhaps some bottom drawers and doors on top would dress this up a lot more.
