I need some help with this one. I bought some wood at the yearly wood turners show here in Waco (which was fantastic by the way!). And I didn’t write down what it was – silly me. The picture doesn’t do it any real justice. I really like the look of it and would like to eventually get more. Can someone tell me what it is?

That is a beautiful tray. I like the center handle for picking it up

It has some of the colors of mesquite in it ( the yellow is the sap wood), but the yellow is in between the brown section which does not seem right.

I want to say alder, maybe red alder, but I’m just guessing here. Nice looking bowl, whatever the wood is.

That is really nice looking wood. It’s no wonder you want to get more.

Can’t help you with the timber, but you sure made a nice job on the tray, well done
