I have been turning bowls for a change of pace lately. The first bowl is red oak base, walnut ring on top and a walnut, Purple Heart mix on the next to last ring. The second bowl is a maple, Purple Heart mix on top ring and walnut rings. The last bowl is a red oak base and paduak ring on top. My goal for this year is to become more proficient at turning as well as completing my kitchen cabinets.

Great looking bowls. I too am trying to become more proficient in making bowls. What method are you using for flattening the rings before you glue rings together?

The local woodworking club has a drum sander that I use. On my first bowl I used my 13” planer. I like the sander better because on the snipe from the planer.
