This is a simple pine and walnut foot stool I built for my sons and my wife. It’s pine, with the exception of small lips of walnut on the leading edge of the stairs and then a walnut support in the back. I was inspired by this project by @jon
http://lumberjocks.com/projects/152754 and then I customized it for myself. I particularly like @jon’s ay of arranging the cuts for the lamination of the side supports. Very clever and really improved the result. That’s the main thing I took from his approach. And I’m glad I did.
It’s sealed and finished with two light coats of shellac.
I’m still working on my dovetail joinery. I’ve gotten a lot better at it. But the better you get, the more you seem to become aware of the distance to really peerless joints. No gaps, all surfaces mating just right. Anyway, I should have taken a bit more time with the joints, getting the surfaces perfectly flat. But I’m pretty happy with the result.
Thanks for reading.
