Sorry to hear about the handle. But if it had been packaged properly, that could not have occurred.
I make sure the shipper straps the saws down to a piece of pine larger than the whole saw, wraps it in tape or shrink wrap, bubbles that, and then puts the label on.
If they manage to break that handle, then you deserve the insurance money on top of the tool!

looks like you did a nice job, I have to ask if the inside of the handle is comfortable? I know for myself i would have to round it out some more.

Yes the handle is comfortable to use. Remember this is in a miter box and I only use it for 10-20 minutes at a time. If this was a rip saw and I used it all day I would spend some more time on the front side of the grip.
