A friend of our family asked if I could make her some stars that can be placed in their yard (one for grandma and one for daughter). Her grand daughter is in her first year of competition cheerleading (5 yr olds). I agreed to make the stars and coat them with primer. She will have to do the paint scheme and add the name.

With that agreed upon, I cut three stars out of a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood. I made the stakes from lumber I had on hand. I attached the stake with deck screws so the stake can be replaced if needed. I used a ROS to ease the edges and dulled the star points just a little.

I made three of them. Since there are about 10-11 of those little rascals running around on the gym floor, I feel like at least one more momma will want the third one. :-)

It was a fun and easy project. It would have been a lot easier if I could cut a straight line with my jig saw! :-(

Rather than just selling the “extra” one …. I’m thinking you’ll be making 10 more before you know it!

They won the championship. That’s what the mom said.

Hmm…maybe I will be getting a few more orders. :-)
